PRODUCT TECHNOLOGIES

X-SHIP

X-Ship provides improved gear durability. By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with bearings, the pinion gear maintains precise alignment with the drive gear. This allows the gears to stay in the same position under the heaviest loads. The added benefit of X-Ship technology is that friction between the spool shaft and gear are eliminated. This further benefits anglers with enhanced casting performance and casting distance of lighter lures.

AERO WRAP II

This two-speed oscillation system layers the line onto the spool in a precise crisscross pattern that reduces line-to-line friction for longer casts. Reels with Aero Wrap II technology utilize a patented worm gear design to move the spool upward quickly and downward slowly to wind the line in a precise pattern, reducing friction and giving anglers smoother and longer casting ability.

INFINITY DRIVE

Infinity Drive is a new main shaft supporting structure that improves winding torque and allows for incredibly smooth and light rotation. This means anglers will benefit from the quick line retrieve of a HG ratio reel while also having the power and winding torque similar to that of a PG ratio reel.

ONE PIECE BAIL

ONE-PIECE BAIL The One-Piece Bail allows the line to travel unimpeded to the line roller. The seamless design reduces friction and decreases the chance of tangles or line catching on the bail arm.

PROPULSION LINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

The most obvious component of the Propulsion Line Management is the new Propulsion Spool Lip design. Through tens of thousands of casting tests and computer simulations, Shimano's new spool lip design provides longer casting distance than a standard spool lip design while also preventing backlash and wind knots from forming.

RIGID SUPPORT DRAG

By strengthening the spool support of the main shaft, the play and fluctuation of the spool during drag operation are suppressed. The Rigid-Support Drag allows smooth and consistent drag delivery, even under high load.

S A-RB BREARINGS

S-ARB bearings are put through the same process as Shimano's A-RB bearings but feature shield on both sides of the bearings. These shields reduce the possibility of salt or sand inhibiting rotation of the bearing.

SILENT DRIVE

SilentDrive technology benefits from a total redesign of all functional parts focused on the drive gear, worm shaft and other parts. The goal: remove unnecessary noise and vibration. In doing so, the overall tolerances are improved to a micron level, ultimately creating an overall quieter and smoother reel operation.

WATER RESISTANT DRAG

With the use of rubber gasket the drag is sealed agaist intrusion of the elements such as water and dust.

X-PROTECT

X-PROTECT provides high-level water resistance without sacrificing light gear and rotor rotation. Bu combining Shomano's water-repellent coating with a water-channeling labyrinth construction, X-Protect provides durability in tough condition.

X-RIGID BAIL

X-RIGID BAIL uses a large diameter titanium alloy wire loop to increase the overall hardness of the bail. In addition to excellent toughness and impact resistance, titanium alloy materials bring unparalleled lightweight and corrosion resistance.

X-RIGID GEAR

The X-rigid Gear was born to win the challenge against tough saltwater species and lies at the heart of Stella SW. Thickness and rigidity of the reborn main gear are obvious to the naked eye with 20% increase in thickness. In addition, a special surface treatment is applied to achieve durability of up to 138% compared to conventional products.

X-RIGID HANDLE

The X-Rigid handle is a new cold-forged aluminum handle that has 35% increase in rigidity versus previous versions and results in more power under heavy loads. The new one-piece shaft cover incorporates an aluminum outer shell and stainless-steel core. This new configuration allows the shaft casing to thoroughly and accurately encase the top of the handle shank, resulting increased rigidity of the entire handle.

X-RIGID ROTOR

The Shape and thickness of the aluminum creates high rigidity that results in more fish fighting power. The increase mass of the aluminum rotor generates more inertia and results in easier fishing of heavy jigs and high-resistance lures.

X-SHIELD

By providing dependable sealing structure and gaskets at necessary points, including the reel body and lid joint and the contact point of the spool and drag knob, possible water ingress is blocked. This double protection provides high reliability and durability to the STELLA SW when used in extreme saltwater conditions.
